$15.19We proudly carry Earthly Delights-brand Wild Morel mushrooms. These mushrooms (of the Morchella genus) can be found throughout the world in a variety of forms. Known for their distinctive honeycomb-looking structure, the Wild Morel is attributed with a variety of different local names. Some of the more entertaining renditions (along with their respective locations) are Kentucky’s “hickory chickens” and West Virginia’s “molly moochers”.
Morel mushrooms have quite an occult following, as well. Every year, thousands of people across the United States engage in “Morel hunting,” or searching tirelessly for the mushrooms. Although this is done in pure sport, it is said that once you find a Morel hotspot, you should never disclose its location! If you’re not having any luck, we always have a supply to reward the efforts of the unsuccessful hunter.
Our Earthly Delights-brand Morels are simply the best. Treasured by chefs the world over, they’re a tasty addition to almost any dish. If you prefer to eat your mushrooms by their lonesome, that’s fine too! Wild Morels are absolutely delectable by themselves when gently sautéed in butter (and sprinkled with a bit of salt and pepper). Don’t think twice about breading them, either – another great way to add even more flavor to an already flavorful mushroom!
